This is an update for the Lights of North Broad app, which would during development be rebranded as the "Summer aBroad AR Tour" app. In this experience, we utilize Niantic Lightship's VPS system to track the front of the building. When detected, a large cartoon octopus appears sitting on the front overhang. The lawn in front of the building is transformed into an underwater park showcasing 3 main areas: An octopus themed Coral Garden, a forest of Sea Grass, and an old sunken Shipwreck. Users would explore these areas with the goal of finding each area's "golden fish" and taking a picture to collect them. Users can also just utilize the capture function to take pictures in general as they explore.
My work on this update was concept art, environment design, and development consultant. I also did final development/polish, various custom shaders, and asset optimization. A majority of the development and asset implementation was done by Elliot Dickman (who you can find here: www.elliotdickman.com). The 3D models were all purchased from a few asset packs.
